Warden Guided Walks

Our Cotswold Voluntary Wardens offer guided walks across the Cotswolds National Landscape and look forward to meeting you. These walks are an interesting and sociable way of exploring the scenic Cotswold countryside and landscape.

    • Most walks do not require booking, just turn up on the day at the advertised meeting location.
      If booking is required, even for some free walks, you will be asked to fill out a short form on the walk page.
    • Dogs are unfortunately not able to be accommodated on our guided walks (except assistance dogs).
      There are a number of walking with dog groups around the Cotswolds you can meet up with.
    • In addition to the walks below we also provide multi-stage monthly warden led guided walks for some of the longer trails including Cotswold Way and Diamond Way, for more information, click here.
    • Safety is important so please take a moment to read our Safety Guidance here.
    • Please always be tick aware whilst walking in the Cotswolds. Consider your clothing and check for ticks after your walk. For more information go to Tick-awareness-A5-leaflet-April-2023

All walks by the Voluntary Wardens are FREE OF CHARGE however donations are welcome and help us to take care of the countryside. You can donate online here.

A pleasant walk from the Green Dragon with splendid views – once you’re up the hill!

Box Tramp
No Booking Required

Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 3 hours Distance: 5 miles

Start point: Box Parish Recreation Ground car park

A walk around the various footpaths of Box Parish. Bring a drink and mid-morning snack. Parking on the Box Parish Recreation Ground car park SN13 8NT.
Please note:

Unless otherwise indicated, all walks by the Voluntary Wardens are free of charge however donations are very much appreciated and are usually collected at the end of the walk.

PLEASE: always remember to wear appropriate footwear because some walks may be steep and muddy in places. Sorry but only assistance dogs are allowed on walks. Warden Leaders will take all reasonable care and precautions but each walker is ultimately responsible for their own safety, and for determining their capability to complete the chosen walk.

It is also advisable to check the website or call the Cotswolds Conservation Board (07841 663607) beforehand for details of any changes, particularly during bad weather.
