A week of mixed weather didn’t dampen my spirits. It’s a fantastic route, full of variety and interest. Met some interesting people along the way and friends accompanied me on three of the seven days. Loved the wildlife, wild flowers, views, history, peaceful churches and unexpected experiences… such as a the comments book in Dyrham woods, meeting 2000 runners doing the ‘Race to the Tower’, learning from a warden that 2/3 of the UKs butterfly species can be found on Stonchcombe Hill – and so on. The high’ of seeing that first view of Bath was also a highlight.
