A walk around open Cotswold countryside and through an ancient fort.
Route description
Starting from outside the primary school and the ancient church at Old Sodbury, we climb up onto the Cotswold plateau and pass the restored C17 Lyegrove House with its working dairy farm. We then walk along the edge of the Badminton estate to Badminton village for our lunch stop.
Retracing our steps we cross open fields to reach Sodbury Fort, which dates from the Iron Age, before descending to return to Old Sodbury using the Cotswold Way.
Bring mid-morning and lunch refreshments.
