Route description
The walk has a mix of country lanes, picturesque village streets and footpaths through water meadows and pastures. There is mediaeval and Norman architecture to be seen, Roman roads, the gateway of a 14th century Knights Hospitallers preceptory, ancient watermills dating back to Saxon times, and of course the much photographed cottages of Arlington Row and the church at Bibury.
The walking is mostly easy though likely to be muddy and wet in places – if the Coln is in flood then it may be necessary to adjust the route.
