A walk through open fields and along green lanes to explore the delightful St Catherine’s valley.
Route description
Starting from the western end (close to the junction with the A420) of the historic village of Marshfield, noted for its historic buildings, we quickly reach open countryside with dramatic views into St Catherine’s valley where we will stop for a morning break.
We then descend steeply to the brook itself, with its tumbling water and our lunch stop, before climbing back up through woodland to pass the gates to Ashwicke Hall and across open fields to return to Marshfield.
Please bring refreshments for a morning break and for lunch. Refreshments are available in Marshfield village (pub and tea shop) at the end of the walk.
