We help young people to connect with nature – with a depth of engagement which can transform both the natural world, and the young people themselves. With an increased understanding and appreciation of the natural environment, young people gain a greater sense of place in their world, bringing huge improvements for their mental and physical wellbeing, their confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.
For many years, we have been creating bespoke outdoor learning sessions for children and young people – with the aim of making the Cotswolds National Landscape accessible and enjoyable for everyone. By inspiring our young people, we believe that the natural beauty of the Cotswolds will be preserved and enhanced for generations to come. We believe if people love this landscape, they will want to look after and cherish it.
We want to encourage young people to get outdoors, to get stuck in with a variety of practical tasks, and to try their hand at something new while experiencing the great natural beauty of the Cotswolds.
Our outdoor learning sessions can include:
- fire-lighting and outdoor cooking
- camping and residential opportunities
- outdoor art including photography and clay work
- farm visits and animal care
- work experience in rural skills and regenerative farming
- practical conservation workshops such as hedge laying, woodland management and meadow creation
- guided walks and hikes
- local excursions including train travel
- adventurous outdoor activities such as kayaking
All our outdoor sessions are inclusive and can be tailored to meet the requirements of the group. National Landscapes are for everyone, so we aim to remove barriers which young people face in accessing the Cotswolds.
We enjoy working in partnership with World Jungle and Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership.
