We set out from Bath to complete the route in reverse, finishing in Chipping Campden 6 days later; celebrating our 21st Wedding Anniversary along the way. Staying in superb B&Bs along the route, bags transferred to the next B&B for our afternoon arrival. It was awe inspiring, allowed us to see beautiful vistas and walk trails that many don’t know exist. The variety of people we met and chatted to along the way was a treat, it felt like a walking family and that we were doing something very special. A variety of path types, steep ascents and gruelling descents, shaded woodland walks and ridge top viewpoints to occupy the eyes and leg muscles! Long may this stunning route be preserved and made accessible to many more intrepid walkers. We passed through on location filming in the enchanting and very pretty village of Stanton! Reaching Chipping Campden on the warmest and sunniest of days on 31st May we had to take a few emotional moments to take in the enormity of 103 Cotswold Way miles walked. I hope our children will be inspired and take on the challenge when they are older. We loved every moment and wish we were back in the peace, calm and serenity of mother nature with no modern life interferences – walking together with our thoughts, laughs and each other’s company – bliss! Where will our walking boots take us next?
